How to Hide an Empire
How to Hide an Empire—A HISTORY OF THE GREATER UNITED STATES

This is an incredible read! The author turns this period of historical complexity and gravely poor behavior by many — into something that answers so many questions we didn’t know we needed to ask because the history as well as the Empire has been hidden from us.
I found the style in which it was written riveting. I also really appreciated for whom the book was written — “To the uncounted”. Even this right here, gives me chills! After having read the book, it makes ALL the more sense and is SO special!
So, as much as I appreciated the writing in this book and the opportunity to put so MANY ugly pieces of history together —what is REALLY SAD is how relevant this book continues to be. Our country repeats the same stuff because so many people don’t know about untold stories of history like this book. Also, greed is still overlooked and consequently built into and allotted for in our operating systems. The New York Times Magazine from July 9, 2023 actually mentions the work of this book in regard to recent happenings in Guam. We must take on the work of rereading history through the lenses of the uncounted, untold, and unseen!
