Folk Singers
Folk singers
paint pictures with words
in such a way that gives time
for our memories to mingle with their words,
hang in the air like humidity
waiting to fall like rain
before a summer storm.
The pause between words,
beat, pick, or strum
gives space
for the feeling
to step inside.
Music, indeed, is a mystery.
It's physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional-
all separate, equal,
more than, and beyond...
holy, whole,
a language of its own.
Folk singers:
Prophets and sages on pages and stages
tell it like it is,
tell it like it was,
tell it like it can be,
might be,
will be,
and could be.
