Not Missed

We were given random previously published poems in our library poetry group and asked to write a response. This is my experiment with Response/Reply Poetry.

MISSED TIME
BY HA JIN

My notebook has remained blank for months
thanks to the light you shower
around me. I have no use
for my pen, which lies
languorously without grief.

Nothing is better than to live
a storyless life that needs
no writing for meaning—
when I am gone, let others say
they lost a happy man,
though no one can tell how happy I was.

My Response

Mirrored moments between
understanding joyous souls
creating space together without need
of drama or explanation
to process or publish on paper
for survival

Seems to me,
the most precious essence
of time and life
has been found—
Not Missed.
