Pandemic Dragsters
Muscle cars, midnight,
intersectional donuts
squealing, tires shredding —
rubber stench reaches,
consideration lacking,
but, entertainment —
humans’ hour, can’t sleep,
pollution permeating,
nose burns, all trees weep —
internalized angst,
pent up covid frustration,
free money, extra time —
some bored, some seeking,
rpm’s power worshiped —
loss, grief — on display.
